Hida Takayama in Japan is known for its fall festival.  I was lucky to visit, stay at an onsen (natural hot spring spa and lodge similar to a bed and breakfast)  and view the festival parade.  The colors of fall are spectacular there and this monotype celebrates that color, especially the red in red maples.  It's based on a piece of ceramic art I saw during the visit.
