Curt Schauer Art is my online art gallery for contemporary art and modern abstract art lovers. Colorful and whimsical, you'll see testament to the styles of Ansel Adams, Pablo Picasso, Wassily Kandisky, Joan Miro, Silvio Vigliaturo, Juan Ripolles, as well as my many mentors and artist friends in my work. When I work on art, time stands still. Hours seem like minutes. I'm free to imagine, to be myself, not knowing or worrying about what will transpire. I hope you'll find that feeling of timeless freedom as well through my work.

Beginning to roll-up a fused glass tile to make a vase in the hot shop.
I'm a Fused Glass Instructor at Bay Area Glass Institute, in San Jose, CA where I'm honored to share my love of glass art and techniques with students and the community. I create works in a variety of media including glass, monotype prints, digital drawings, metal and photography. And often create in one medium and translate into another. My style is abstract and I lean toward minimalism. Color is a trademark of my digital work, while in photography I enjoy creating in black & white. In monotype prints, I use a combination of additive and subtractive techniques to create bold abstract and figurative images. My glasswork is primarily focused on fused glass techniques. Occasionally, I also work in the hot shop.
